I got fed up with my profile info. Well, actually I was fed up with it as soon as I entered it, but couldn't be arsed to change it. Our tastes change over time, don't they? We might have a favourite band one day, half a dozen the next, and positively loathe all music and the people who make it the day after that. Plus of course people do tend to put too much personal data online anyway. Emmanuel Goldstein said as much on this week's edition of Off The Hook, and it struck a chord. We go out of our way to help people sell stuff we don't need to us, and make it just that little bit easier for people to build up their profiles of who we are, what we do, etc.

Even if we are all ultimately rather boring in our own way, this sort of information is collected, hoarded, sold and bought on a daily basis. I don't know about you, but I don't really feel like playing along any more. As Bluebottle said in so many episodes of the Goon Show: "I don't like this game!"

Which in a rather roundabout way brings me to the latest load of erroneous bosh I entered in my profile. No, I don't know what sort of music #!/core (pronounced 'shebangcore', I suppose) is. Perhaps I shall have to invent it.

It was originally going to be called ?core, but the pronunciation ("querycore" -- much less cumbersome than "questionmarkcore") was a bit too easy to confuse with queercore.

Perhaps #!/core is music written in AWK or Perl. Or perhaps it's just music designed not to be picked up easily by search engines. Perhaps I should put some apostrophes in the name as well. Or not.

I'm bored. Does it show?

Thanks for the friending!
:iconcussedness:
A mewlip, perhaps? Or feed him to Rusty's triffids?
:iconslacknhash:
I thought Rusty docked those triffids' stings?
:iconsabledrake:
I'd say "turn him into a toad!" but that would be a step up the evolutionary ladder now wouldn't it?

There's one of the limitations of witchcraft. There isn't a 'turn him into a protozoan' option.

Not even voodoo's got that option...
:iconsabledrake:
Maybe if we just dumped salt on him? I bet there'd be some kind of reaction.
